UREA is a spherical white solid. It is an organic amide molecule containing 46% nitrogen in the form of amine groups. It is not a poison to mammals and birds and is a benign and safe chemical to handle. Urea, also known as urea and carbonamide, has a chemical formula of CH4N2O or CO(NH2)2. It is an organic compound composed of carbon, nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen. It is a white crystal. One of the simplest organic compounds, it is the major nitrogenous end product of the breakdown of protein metabolism in mammals and some fish.
